Published in conjunction with a major retrospective exhibition organized by the Museum of Modern Art of the work of photographer Diane Arbus, who committed suicide a year earlier. Her body of work is considered one the great achievements of the twentieth century. The book is edited and designed by Doon Arbus and Marvin Israel, with assistance by John Szarkowski. The text is comprised of recordings from Arbus' classes and interviews. Generously illustrated with black and white photographs.
